The Drafted Service
Known for their distinctive red berets and yellow scarves and shemaghs, the Drafted Service is the professional Garrison Army of Dominus Columbia, and serves as it's primary deterrent from outside interlopers, be they living or undead. Drawing its name from the fact that all Born Residents are required to perform 2 Years of Civil Service before claiming their Citizenship. While other forms of Civil Service have largely overshadowed the need to serve in the military for many of Dee Cee's scions of elite families, the Drafted Service remains a respectable career for the vast majority of The Bailey's residents.
While in theory sworn to defend Dominus Columbia from all enemies Foriegn and Domestic, in practice the Drafted Service mostly sees action repelling the occasional raider raid from the far side of the Red Embankment, or clearing hordes of Zed from the base of the wall with long pikes and flamethrowes. In truth, other than 'juvies' making their way through their Mandatory 2 Year Service, the Drafted Service's career ranks are almost all volunteer, as it serves the surest and quickest (if not safest) route to Citizenship within the Bailey for many outsiders wishing to make a home, and once in for 5 Years many former Wastelanders find that career military life in a peaceful garrison posting suits them just fine.
