Every year when the sky begins to dim and the trees begin to turn to fire and shed their leaves the prospect of months of cold weather begins to weigh on the hearts and minds of the citizenry. All across the Bailey armature fight rings both legal and illegal begin to pop up. Every last one of them seems to think that the sun sets on their fighters. That is where the Big Dog of the Bailey comes in.   Fighters from all around the city, and many freelancers of both local and visitor variety all put their money where their mouth is. The entry fees all go into a pot, and the winner takes all, minus a small fee from the hosting Blacktop Casino of course.   The Big Dog of the Bailey tournament is a hideous blood sport for the masses. It is a spectacle for carnage hungry and jaded among the wastelanders. Each fighter matches up with another in a single elimination match until eventually the last one still standing faces off against the previous years winner for the title. Faith and psionic based interventions are forbidden but other than that the rules are simple: don't get killed. The more brutal and outlandish the fights tend to generate the most prestige for the fighters and put more money into the pot.   Weapons, armor, and shields are provided by the arena seemingly at random and to spice things up raiders, zed and critters have been known to be thrown into matches as extra obstacles. A few times the arena has even been flooded to make even more of a spectacle.   If you're interested in blood, sweat and pain or perhaps to make a pile of shells on betting, the Big Dog of the Bailey may definitely be worth your while to check out.
