Phantoms
Not truly "ghosts" (in that they have no agency, memory, or identity any longer), the Phantoms are more of a psionic impression usually left in the wake of a final death under extreme emotional duress beyond that which violent death alone can bring. Often in the case of a Haunted Hell House these Echoes will map to one of several known "Archetypes" or "Tarots", with more powerful Phantoms being more likely to conform to an Archetype. Dispelling or removing a Phantom usually means providing an equal-and-opposite emotional resolution to the conflict that caused the Phantom in the first place, but discovering what that is or, indeed, how to outweigh such dark deeds, is a challenge in of itself.
