(The chapter opens with the gang being led by Lykoi, through the snow covered woods.)
Keira: Even with that stop we should be able to get to egran before the attack.
Tenebris: assuming we don't run into any trouble.
Keira: right.
Machi: so what's with the dog?
Lykoi: his name is Ulfer. he is my brother.
Arthor: Brother? he's a wolf.
Sam: The tribes are dyriads.
Machi: huh?
Tenebris: dyriads share their orku with their spirit bond.
Arthor: how's that work? I mean I thought that everything has its own orku, so how do you share orku?
Lykoi: Dyriads spirit is strong, wolf spirit weak. together spirit is balanced.
Arthor: okay...got it?
Sam: it's the same as what I do with my sword. orku is generated and absorbed over a long time. its just an animal rather than metal.
Arthor: so, its not his actual brother?
Tenebris: as far as orku goes their as close as you and karri.
Sam: you really don't know anything do you?
Arthor: I was trained as an assassin, if it wasn't related to killing something, I didn't need to know.
Machi: dang, that tough.
Arthor: (annoyed) glad you think so.
Keira: alright, lets focus up. once we get to the frozen pass, we will be in enemy territory. be on guard at all times, got it?
everyone: "right." "yeah." "got it."
Keira: good. how long until we get to the pass?
Lykoi: the water is close.
(they walk through into a small clearing to a cliff overlooking the iced over pass.)
Machi: (looks over the cliff) so how are we supposed to get down there.
Lykoi: follow close. (ulfer and lykoi run and jump off and lands on various trees and rocks that are sticking out of the cliff all the way until they land on the ground below)
Arthor: right. if its that simple.
Kiera: I can take arthor down, and Sam can make it down on her own...
Tenebris: we'll be right behind you.
Machi: what?
Arthor: I can make it down on my own.
Keira: kid, I know you want to do everything yourself but we cant risk any injuries. we have to move fast.
Arthor: I can make it myself!
Keira: (angrily looks at tenebris)
Tenebris: (kinda looks at her knowingly)
Keira: fine, just don't get hurt.
( Keira's eyes light up and she jumps off the cliff and land on the ground next to lykoi. Sam's eyes light up and she takes out her sword and jumps off and stabs it into the mountain to slow her fall and lands daintily next to the others)
Tenebris: you good?
Arthor: Im fine!
Tenebris: alright. you first.
Arthor:( goes to the edge of the cliff, and jumps down cautiously onto the protrusions on the cliff with tenebris closely behind him. they make it down eventually)
Arthor: see. I'm fine.
Keira: alright then.
Machi: (falls out of a tree onto the ground) awgh! . . . I'm good.
(it cuts to the gang walking out onto the frozen beach and they look out onto the ice.)
Lykoi: (looks out at the ice nervously)
Keira: thank you for taking us here. your free to go back to your people.
Lykoi: (looks at Arthor) This is my fight too.
Keira: come on, not you too.
Tenebris: lykoi, we appreciate your willingness to help but this is our fight, not yours.
Lykoi: the war people threaten my tribe. I fight for my tribe and for myself.
Keira: "Hough!" (starts walking onto the ice) (to herself) why not, Cuse fighting a whole kingdom wasn't enough, I have to be a babysitter too.
Tenebris: lykoi, I know you want to protect your people but this is dangerous.
Lykoi: this is my choice.
Tenebris: . . . (looks at arthor)...okay. then I will not go against it.
(they start walking across the ice and lykoi looks back to the forest and follows the rest of the group)
(it cuts to the gang pushing past the high winds on the ice)
Sam: So far so good, no Egranian energy.
Keira: good, they aren't guarding the ice, just like I thought.
Lykoi: (hears something and looks around) Danger!
Keira: (her eyes light up and she looks around) I don't sense anything? anyone have eyes on the enemy?
Tenebris: nothing.
Machi: nope
Lykoi: (looks down) get away!
(the ice under them begins to crack and the gang jump out of the way as a massive hand brakes out of the ice and slams onto the ground)
(A giant golem made of ice climbs out of the water and onto the ice. )
Keira: (her eyes light up and water from the the hole the monster made rises up and wraps around the monsters arms and Sam jumps up with her eyes glowing as she slashes the monsters arm and cracks the ice but stops after hitting a rock underneath the ice)
(the water from Keira's water chains freezes and brakes as the monster swipes at Sam and she blocks it with her sword but she gets sent flying)
Tenebris: (appears and grabs Sam and lands next to Keira) you alright?
Sam: yeah, fine.
Keira: (her eyes glow and she raises her weapons and a giant pillar of water rises and slams down on the monster and it gets sent back by the impact, the ice starts cracking around the monster. Keira notices) If I release any more energy the ice is going to break!
Machi: got it! (he runs in and his eyes glow red and he charges into the leg of the monster and knocks it off balance and tenebris disappears and reapers next to the monsters head and punches it with his bandaged arm sending the monster to the ground and it shatters into large peices as it hits the ice)
Tenebris: (thinking) this things energy was off the charts (as he looks at his metal bandages glowing multiple colors as he absorbs it)
(the monster starts reforming as the ice parts comeback together)
Machi: what is this thing!? (it stands back up)
Arthor: alright come on you got this (he breathes in and his eyes start glowing red as his hand lights up and he throws an energy ball at the monster and it blast into the side of the monsters cracked face causing the monster to turn and look at him) uhhh, I got it's attention! (he starts running)
Tenebris: Keira! hold it down! (she conjures up some more water and it wraps around the monsters body as it reaches for arthor. tenebris eye's light up light blue and two of his rings lights up) get them away from that thing.) (two of tenebris spirits appear next to arthor and lykoi and grabs them and starts running back with the others. tenebris jumps up and slams his hands down on the ice sending a shockwave out in front of him destroying the ice and sending the creature into the water, he jumps from the crumbing ice and disappears and reappears next to his spirits and the others running from the collapsing ice)
Keira: come on! (everyone starts running away from the cracking ice and jump out of the way as the ice slides into the water.)
Keira: everyone ok!?
Everyone: yeah.
Arthor: what was that?
Sam: an Andlaus...
Machi: that thing? Andlaus arent supposed to be that big or aggressive.
Arthor: what the hell is an Andlaus?
Tenebris: creatures made from natural orku that take the forms of their environments.
Keira: but whatever that thing was not natural.
Lykoi: .....no, it was not.... (they look around and lykoi is looking at the ice ahead of them and sees a broken ship peaking out of the ice. they walk over to the ships) ( lykoi puts his hand on the bow of the Frosinn ship. ulfer nuzzles lykoi sadly as he sees a lifeless Frosinn tribe member in the ice)
Keira: (looks around and sees under the ice, ships of both Frosinn tribe members and Egranian legionaries)
(the gang look around the war scene barely peaking out of the ice)
lykoi: war...brings death....and death brings spirit.
Sam: the Andlaus....it absorbed their anda energy.
Keira: (looks sad) come on. we need to keep moving.
(the gang solemnly starts walks off)
Lykoi: (grabs a bow from the ship) Líf ykkar verður ekki til einskis. [ your lives will not be in vain ].
(he turns around and starts walking away)
CHAPTER 71 ON THIN ICE
(the chapter opens with the Rekinn, the second ranked Immortal knight walking down a road with a bag over his shoulder and a giant sword on his hip)
Rekinn: Sent all the way out into the country to deal with some kangor or whatever, none of em even put up a fight. now I'm missing out on all the action in Eldur. and those two legionaries siding with that radical....I'll have their badges for betraying their kingdom.
(he stops and stands still in the middle of the road.)
Rekinn: (senses something. He starts running and sees smoke in the distance. his eye's spark with fire and he takes off leaving a trail of fire behind him until he reaches the village and looks around and sees injured people scattered about and buildings damaged. he runs to a legionary whose helping up another injured person)
Rekinn: what's going on here?
Legionary: the village is under attack by these things. they look like humans but theirs some kind of dark energy. they appeared out of nowhere and started wrecking the village.
Legionary 2: we tried to stop them but nothing we did seemed to do anything.
Rekinn: Take it easy soldier. I'll take over from here, just get as many people to safty and get someone on those fires.
Legionaries: Yes sir.
Rekinn: (his eyes light up and he senses something in the distance he runs and finds legionaries fighting two dark figures)
Master class legionary: (her eyes glow and she runs and dodges attacks from Orion and cuts his side but it regenerates and he swings at her again as she doges, Orion pulses and swings extremely fast and the legionary tries to block it but gets launched into a building and falls to the ground as Orion jumps up and goes to finish her he gets stopped by Rekinn pretty easily)
Rekinn: Can you walk?
Master class Legionary: ye...yeah. (she gets up and runs away)
Rekinn: (black vines start glowing around his legs and Orion goes to punch him but his eyes spark with yellow fire and a pillar of fire burst from Rekinn burning the vines and Orion)
Orion: (starts absorbing the fire around them and regenerating)
Rekinn: what on earth...
Orion: (Regenerates and attacks Rekinn but he jumps back, and his eyes start glowing like fire as orion's arm starts pulsing and red energy runs along it as he slams his hand into the ground black and red energy destroy the ground around them (rekinn's eyes dart to the building and fire sparks under his feet as he dashes into the building and grabs a kid that was trapped by some rubble and jumps out a window and lands as the buildings collapses)
Rekinn: (sets them down) get as far as you can. (the kid starts running and Orion appears out of nowhere and punches Rekinn in the face sending a shockwave of air out but Rekinn tanks it and turns his head with orions fist still in his face) Is that the best you got.
Orion: (roars!)
Rekinn: ha! (eyes light up yellow and he punches Orion and flames explode on contact and Orion goes flying back but lands on his feet but Rekinn appears in a flash of fire and grabs his face and slams him into the ground cracking it around Orion)
Rekinn: (stands up) I don't know what you are but your rampage ends here.
(a black vine wraps around his leg)
Rekinn: huh? (the vine picks him up and throws him into a nearby stand. he gets up and sees a mass of vines shoot out at him and he runs around dodging them as they slam into the ground) (thinking) I'm barely sensing any energy from these things, but their almost as strong as a royal knight. what's going on here?
(vela descends from vines with black vines coming from her back and Orion stands up)
Rekinn: Listen, I'm not one to pass up a good fight, but I have important business to get to, if you surrender now, I promise to find you help for whatever's happening to you.
(both roar and sends shockwaves of air out)
Rekinn: well then, I guess there's no reasoning with you then. (his eyes light up and flames burst around him as he draws his massive flaming sword from its sheath with one hand and gets into a stance) I'll just have to finish this quickly.
(both start charging at him and he raises his sword and its flames intensify and right before they both get to him he brings his sword down and a white light engulfs them as a massive pillar of fire explodes and it cuts to the villagers and legionaries outside the city watching this massive blast of fire. then it cuts back to the village square where Rekinn stands with the surrounding area charred and destroyed. he looks over and sees the bodies of the corrupted dead stars and their trying to regenerate but they keep burning up slowly.)
Rekinn: I'm truly sorry for what has happened to you.(he puts away his sword) and I hope you spirits will come to forgive me.
Orion: Kar....Karri....sor....(disintegrates)
(their ashes blow away in the wind leaving black bloodstains behind)
Rekinn: (notices his last words, and starts walking away solemnly)
(it cuts to the Kongur prison cell where karri is being held and he's laying in the fetal position but senses something and gets up and walks to the barred window and looks out into the distance as it cuts to the masked man in shadows)
Man in shadows: (senses their passing) hmm, pathetic. still they have done their job. Guess the time has come. (he starts walking away and it cuts to black)
CHAPTER 72 THE CLENSING FIRE
( the chapter opens with Solomon walking up to magnus, who is speaking with a legionary )
Magnus: thank you soldier. (the legionary leaves)
Solomon: news from the 25th?
Magnus: The remaining states have agreed to join the resistance.
Solomon: well I guess there is only one thing left.
Magnus: Sirius.
Solomon: it is only a matter of time until he surrenders.
Magnus: time is something we may not have. legionaries have spotted scouts from 3 separate legions, as well as reports of what could only be a battle of the second ranked immortal. we cannot wait any longer.
Solomon: how far out?
Magnus: less then a two days journey.
Solomon: then their is still time for him to surrender. hold the troops for now.
Magnus: (his visor glows red) I was starting to believe you actual were intelligent. but it turns out it is only your silver tounge.
Solomon: excuse me?
Magnus: I believe you have done enough, I will be taking command from now on.
Solomon: what?
Magnus: you will be compensated as I have said, but your services are no longer required.
Solomon: You think just because your a royal knight that you can do whatever you want. but that does not they will follow you.
Magnus: People follow the throne, not a face. I suggest you you leave before you have neither.
Solomon: (angrily starts walking away. )
Magnus: (turns to face the crowd of legionaries and revolutionaries) Prepare for an attack on the castle. If Sirius will not come to us, we will go to him. Egran will be united by the end of this day! (they all cheer and start preparing for the attack and it shows the lifeless stare of magnus visor.)
( it cuts to Sirius)
Legionary: Sir, troops have been spotted marching into the inner walls
Sirius: (visibly distressed) this has gone on long enough. if its me they want, then they wont stop until they get me.
Legionary: Sir, you cannot give yourself up, people have died in your name.
Sirius: And I will not let anymore die in my name, while I stand by and do nothing.
Legionary: So what will you do?
Sirius: We've held out hope for a savior, and a possible peaceful way out, but it's over. no ones coming. I am the King of Egran, I will take responsibility for my actions. tell the guards to stand down.
Legionary: if you believe this is the right decision my lord. I will stand with you.
Sirius: there is not a right answer Leon. but I am done letting others fight my battles, it is my turn. (he grabs armor from a stand and starts putting it on)
Legionary: if you wish to fight them, then I can not let you fight alone.
Sirius: (looks at the legionary)
Legionary: there would be no greater honor then to fight for my kingdom alongside you sir, I am sure everyone in this castle feels the same way.
Sirius: . . . well then. lets not keep them waiting.
magnus: (walks past the outer walls to the front doors) I know you can hear me, come out now or we will brake in.
(the doors open and Sirius is standing with the legionary by his side fully armored and many more legionaries behind him)
Sirius: You have disgraced this kingdom.
Magnus: no, I have freed it. (he puts his hand up)
Sirius: (holds up his sword)
both: CHARGE!
(both armies charge at each other and start fighting while the king and magnus stand staring at each other. Magnus visor glows and he dashes at Sirius who swings at him but magnus grabs the sword and tries to heat up the sword, but magnus kicks him off of it.)
Sirius: You think the king of Egran would fight with anything less than the purest malmite!
Magnus: It doesn't matter how pure it is, there is nothing my fire cannot melt.
Sirius: then you will be surly disappointed. (his eyes light up red and he swings at him but magnus is to fast and he goes to grab Sirius throat but the legionary at his side steps in and deflects his hand with his sword)
Magnus: ( steps forward and his visor glows as the cracks of his armor starts glowing red and he starts attacking the both of them each, blocking each strike until he brakes the legionaries sword in half and grabs the broken end of the blade and stabs it into the legionary, who stumbles back )
Sirius: Leon, No! (he grips his sword and slashes at magnus who deflects it with his armor and grabs the king by the throat)
Magnus: this is my ultimate victory. because you have fought you have saved me the trouble of covering up your execution. I will be hailed as the one to bring about the fall of Sirius and the unity of Egran.
Sirius: (tries to slash him one last time but magnus closes his fist more causing the king to start loosing consciousness) (just as the king is loosing consciousness magnus grip loosens and he drops the king) (Sirius looks up and sees Solomon with a knife stabbed between the armor of magnus.) why?
Solomon: get him! (magnus elbows Solomon in the face staggering him back as Leon with the broken sword in his side runs up and stabs the broken end of his sword in magnus' throat beneath his helmet and blood starts dripping from the wound as he stumbles back and he falls down into a pool of blood)
Sirius: (looks up at Solomon)
Solomon: Do you yield.
Sirius: (clearly saddened) I .... do...
Solomon: you made the right choice. (Solomon helps up Sirius) The new era of Egran has begun!
(it zooms out to see Solomon army cheering and the kings men picking each other)
CHAPTER 73 CHECKMATE
(the chapter opens almost immediately after the battle and Solomon is walking with Sirius through the city streets with people celebrating)
Sirius: All these years, I have tried my best to serve this kingdom, and yet I feel that I knew this was inevitable.
Solomon: Heavy is the head that wears the crown. It is almost impossible to serve as long as you have and not fall victim to the changing of tides. Hold your head up high, they do not cheer for your end, but a new beginning.
Sirius: even so, I feel as though I failed them. failed people like you.
Solomon: when the new king is chosen I will advocate for you. Although you will will most likely spend your remaining days in a prison as their must be repercussions for all the lives lost in this exchange.
Sirius: Thank you Solomon, but it will not be necessary, I have made peace with my end.
Solomon: (notices his sadness) very well then.
(they get to the city center and Solomon walks out on a buildings balcony with Sirius behind him)
Solomon: People of Egran, Hear me now! I Solomon Vondurson Promised to bring about a new Era of Egran. Today we have fulfilled that promise! (he gestures to the guards to bring Sirius forward. the crowd cheers) Today is the day we remind the other kingdoms why Egran is at the top! (crowd cheers again) No more will we fold to them and give up our resources and our land! If they want it, they will have to take it from us, and we will Fight! (the crowd cheers even louder)
Solomon: But in order for that to happen, we must have a leader. A leader who is not afraid to go against the world for his people, a leader who will lead his people into the future, and never look back. And I believe the only way a leader for the people can be chosen is by the people. so what say you, who will lead you into the bright future!
Crowd: Solomon! Solomon! Solomon!
(the red haired man takes the crown from Sirius and places it on Solomons head)
(the legionaries around him clearly do not like him wearing the crown) (the crowd continues to cheer)
Solomon: Very well then. The people have spoken. I am humbled and honored at the opportunity to serve as your king. I promise I will not fail you! My first act as the new king of Egran, is to take back what is rightfully ours from all the other kingdoms!
(the crowd cheers once more and Solomon looks out and sees everyone) (Sirius looks out at the crowd and almost cries)
Solomon: (walks back in wearing the crown) well then, lets get to work.
CHAPTER 74 THE END OF AN ERA
(the chapter opens with the gang on the other side of the pass. they are kneeling behind some bigger rocks on the frozen beach around sundown)
Tenebris: we need to keep going the nearest village shouldn't be far from here.
Keira: (looks at the go over the horizon) the legions will be leaving for the Egranian border in the morning. it will take a little over a day to reach the blockade at the borders. so we have just over 2 days to get to Eldur. without the map, I cant tell for sure where we are.
Tenebris: we'll get directions from the village.
Keira: good idea, but keep the social interactions to a minimum, we don't want to draw any attention.
Sam: so what about him? (points to lykoi who is wearing tribal clothing and has a bow around his back)
Keira: we'll get you some more...modern clothes when we get to the village.
Lykoi: what is modern? what you wear is modern?
Keira: (looks around and everyone's clothes are cut up and icy from the journey so far.) I guess we'll all get new clothes.
(it cuts to them walking up to some trees overlooking a village)
Keira: remember, we are vacationers from sedanss who got trapped in egran.
Everyone: Got it.
(they sneak down into the village that is mostly empty at night and try to find the inn and a store)
(they hide from passing legionaries and eventually make it into an inn)
Innkeeper: we howdy there, aren't you a colorful bunch. what can I do for ya?
Keira: we're looking for a place to stay for the night and some new clothes.
Innkeeper: unfortunately we're all outta rooms. with the people causing trouble down south we got all these cityfolk coming up here.
Keira: is there anywhere else we can go?
Innkeeper: the next village isn't for a while, even so you're not going to find another inn around here that isn't full.
Keira: (looks at the rest of the gang) please me and my family have no where else to go we have been stuck over here for weeks, with no where to sleep or eat. I got three hungry kids to look out for. is there anything you can do?
Innkeeper: (looks at the rest of the gang sitting in the lobby) "hough" I got a barn out back, Ill let you guys stay here for the night. but that's the best I can do.
Keira: (smiles) thank you so much!
Innkeeper: Let me grab some extra blankets for you folks and I'll meet ya out back.
(Keira walks over to the gang and they walk outside and into the barn where several horses are being kept, they walk to the second level where their is a pile of hay and the innkeeper puts down some blanks on top of the hay. )
Innkeeper: my wife will be out with some food for ya in a bit.
Keira: thank you so much again.
(he walks down the stairs)
( they all huddle around the lantern in the middle of the room) (Keira puts down a map)
Keira: we are here. (points to the map) there's a fairy that will take us to the next village where we can take tracks to the capital. so we should be right on time, barring any other distractions.
gang: (eating some soup and bread)
Machi: so when we get there, how are we going to find this Solomon guy.
Keira: from what demion has told us, he will most likely be around the royal castle. (she takes a picture out of her backpack and puts it down) this is the man we are looking for.
Arthor: (drops the bread, his face goes white and he looks terrified)
